The application is aimed for students and it works as an alternative interface for the similar functions in MyCourses. See more details below and <a href=\"https:\/\/link.webropolsurveys.com\/S\/678F2D33F65196B1\">participate<\/a>\u00a0by suggesting a name.<\/p>\n<h2>Description of functions and aims of the application<\/h2>\n<p><em>Main functionalities of the mobile application:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Student can see his\/her current courses<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Links to course page in MyCourses, Oodi and link to courses.aalto.fi<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Student can drill down to see topics taught on the course<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>On each topic, student can assess<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Competence<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Difficulty<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Feeling<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Write about his\/her expectations on the topic<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Notes on the topic<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Reflections on the topic<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This application is a kind of learning diary. In research literature these applications can be referred as structured learning diaries. Here, the study experience is collected from all participants of the course and the data is visualized (in MyCourses) to show all students how other students have reacted to the course topics, anonymously of course. This feedback can then be dynamically used to adapt teaching:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOh, seems my students didn\u2019t really understand last week\u2019s topic, maybe we should take a look at that again on next lecture\u201d,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>or adapt learning:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSeems others didn\u2019t have difficulties with this, maybe I should talk with friends and let them explain this to me\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our application has been called Dynamic Feedback System (DFS) or Visual Learning Diary (VLD) in different schools. \u201cFeedback\u201d word in the name seems to stray the focus from the main function: self-assessment and perhaps \u201cAalto University Visual Learning Diary\u201d could be better. Or maybe it could be simply \u201cAalto University Course Diary\u201d? What do you think?<\/p>\n<h2>Prizes<\/h2>\n<p>There are two category prizes<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Grand prize of Aalto University products for ca. 50\u20ac.
