Before starting summer holidays, it’s good to look back and think about what we have done and achieved this spring. The spring was again filled with events, new pilots and a new batch of idea proposals. In addition, we launched our new website and developed our Call for idea proposals process further. Here is a short recap summing up everything.
The year started with finishing our website renewal project, as our redesigned website was launched in January. The new design makes it easy to find information and improved content aims to answer all questions our website visitors have. After the launch, we also started to write more blog posts, sharing our latest news to everyone who are interested.
Our Visual clinic continued from last year and helped people with visual materials. As a new clinic, we launched a VR & 360° clinic to provide help with any issues with VR and 360° filming. Our Call for Idea Proposal clinics, on the other hand, aimed to help with questions regarding the Call for Idea Proposals. Furthermore, we participated in some specific school events to share information about the Call.
In February, we had 15 pilots starting to work on their projects. A Kick-start event in March helped our pilot leaders get to know each other and become a part of the Aalto Online Learning community. In March we also had the deadline for spring 2019 Call for Idea Proposals round. We received many promising proposals and some of them have already started to work on their ideas. In June, we organised a video training week to all our new pilots doing video production to help them get started.
To continue the Learning@Aalto event series, we organised Learning@Aalto: Assessment for Lifelong Learning with Aalto University’s three other strategic initiatives in the field of education. This time we focused on different assessment related topics through talks and workshops.
Thank you all for being a part of this spring! The entire Aalto Online Learning team wishes you a sunny and relaxing summer holiday, see you again in August ☀️
