We are pleased to invite you to the launch of Burning Imaginations on 31st October 2019 at the Harald Herlin Learning Centre. To celebrate the launch we also open an exhibition of artworks and engineering products in the Visual Resource Centre vitrines, made by students and staff from Aalto University.
The event will include a short panel discussion The Art of Mould Making – Past, Present and Future. The panel will be chaired by art historian Tuija Peltomaa, who will be in discussion with artists Kaisaleena Halinen, Anne Meskanen-Barman, and Satu-Minna Suorajärvi.

Burning Imaginations is a series of eight videos explaining the techniques and methods involved in mould making and casting with a variety of materials, including bronze, aluminium, plaster, silicon, and concrete. Burning Imaginations is a co-production between Sculpture (Foundation and General Studies, Aalto ARTS) and Foundry Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Aalto ENG), funded by Aalto Online Learning.
All videos will be made freely available online via Aalto Online Learning and Aalto University’s channels.
