Overview
The aim would be to create a website called “Guide for Digital Design”. Website would comprehensively serve bachelor’s courses in architecture and it would be made in cooperation with University of Oulu, Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
The development work would firs focus on creating general digital design guidelines and after that focus would shift more on the point of view of the design courses.
The Guide for Digital Design would later be expanded to support the content of design courses for all architecture year courses at three different universities and one university of applied sciences.
The Comments and Discussion section will aim at developing the website’s content as well as enhancing the learning efficiency through student’s shared problem-solving.
The Guide for Digital Design would be easily editable, vibrant and conversational – many different parties have the right to edit the content, while only a few will coordinate the overall structure.
Platforms and tools
Website will be created with WordPress.
Pedagogical methods
The Guide for Digital Design supports problem-based learning and blended learning.
From the student’s point of view, learning is driven by need. A student searches the website for digital design instructions, templates, and tips to utilize. A comprehensive search tool based on categories and tags will significantly facilitate problem solving. The website guides user to choose the right software and provides case examples. Students can also ask other students for support if they cannot find the information they need.
