Timeline

Spring 2020 – Dec 2020

Overview

Through a series of video and audio interviews we will explore the structures and histories of the disciplines that define Aalto University. Do engineers construct new knowledge in the same way as designers? Do biochemists engage with the world in the same way as computer scientists? Do we share the same truths about the world?

This series of digital materials, produced collaboratively with the online learning centre, will be used as a tool for students to understand not only the strengths of their own disciplines, but also their limitations. Through embedded short writing prompts students will learn to identify opportunities to draw from methodologies outside of their own fields and forge meaningful transdisciplinary collaborations.

Platforms and tools

All material produced will be available both on freely accessible public platforms.

Pedagogical methods

The material produced can be used independently or embedded in project courses.
