On March 6th, we were thrilled to host four guests from D.dialogue association and Showa Women’s University, Japan. We had an intensive afternoon filled with presentations and a tour around the Learning Centre. We were also able to visit our weekly VR clinic to showcase our events.
The afternoon started with introductions from both sides. First, our visitors introduced their Education Design project in Showa Women’s University. Then, Tomi Kauppinen presented Aalto Online Learning followed by Lauri Malmi’s presentation about learning technologies research. Lastly, Tatsiana Padhaiskaya from our pilot Bachelor’s Thesis Seminar Online came to talk about the pilot and the process of creating it. This inspired discussions about how to use online and blended approaches in courses.
After the presentations, we all visited Aalto Online Learning’s weekly VR & 360° Clinic and gave our guests a tour of the Learning Centre. In the clinic, our guests were able to try different VR settings. Also, Jere, our VR & 360° specialist, introduced different VR related projects made in Aalto University and the various possibilities of VR in education.
Thank you for our guests for a pleasant afternoon! We truly believe that this kind of collaboration provides valuable new insights on educational development for both sides.
