Overview
We are making short videos on finding and using digital cultural heritage databases and Aalto Unviersity Archives’ new digital collections for studies, research and teaching to integrate into information literacy training at Aalto University:
– Image and media databases for digital cultural heritage: finding and using high-quality digital materials provided by museums, archives and libraries (instead of googling for visual material).
– Good practices for using Creative Commons licensed media, and creating image and media citations for dissertations and other learning outputs.
– Aalto University Archives’ digital visual collections (how to access unique materials digitised from the collections, with a highlight for architecture collections). Aalto University Archives are digitising nearly 200 000 images and 5000 objects from its collections in a mass digitisation project in 2018-2019.
