Overview

There is a need for a common and more efficient tool for giving feedback on academic texts in Finnish, especially on maturity demonstrations which are a mandatory part of the Bachelor’s thesis seminars. There are some popular tools as Turnit In for commenting students’ texts and giving feedback. There are also several templates of feedback available, but not specifically for academic writing in Finnish. The aim of the project is to develop a template of comments that is created and meant to be used in commenting academic texts in Finnish for example in Turnit In. Digitalization and improvement of the feedback tools is a logical follow-up to the digital material on academic writing in Finnish that was created in 2019 in the Aalto Online Learning project.

Target students are the Bachelor students in all the schools. If all the teachers in academic writing in Finnish would use the tool, it means hundreds of students per year. The tool can be used in all the other writing courses as well.
